SERVICES OF ST. BARTHOLOMEW EXPLAINED:
Eucharist is a church service that contains Holy Communion. Anyone is welcome to attend, and all baptised Christians regardless of religious affiliation are welcome to receive the Body and Blood of Christ.
Sunday Holy Communion Service (organ and choir): This service allows worshippers to experience the tradition of the rich history of the Episcopal church. The music is a mix of traditional and well-tempered contemporary styles, with organ and a full choir on most Sundays (except during the summer). Rite II (contemporary) language is used in the service. An excellent choice for families, with Christian education classes beginning soon after the services. This service includes the distribution of Christ’s body and blood in the form of bread and wine, a sacrament which is open to all baptized people, children and adults.
Sunday Holy Communion Service (Praise Band): This service is contemporary in format, presentation and music selection while still remaining true to the Episcopal tradition. The contemporary language of Rite II from the Episcopal Book of Common Prayer is used, with accompanying songs and graphics all projected up on to a large screen making it a very "user-friendly" service, which in turn also makes it an attractive choice for families. The music consists of a multi-instrumental Praise Band and offers well-known contemporary Christian music selections. This service includes the distribution of Christ's body and blood in the form of bread and wine, a sacrament which is open to all baptized Christians, both children and adults.
Sunday Holy Communion Service: The third service is our newest offering. We hope the evening time allows for more flexibility in people's busy schedules. The priest will announce page numbers making this a good service to get familiar with the order of service. Immediately following this service will be an optional time of prayers for healing in the side chapel.
Hospitality: is a time of social togetherness in the parish hall between the 8:30 and 11:00 services, open to all. A light breakfast is provided, along with beverages and a time to get to know others at St. Bartholomew's.
Nursery: is a professionally-staffed pre-kindergarten child care service for those attending church and/or Christian education opportunities.
