David didn't need God. Secretly, Emily believed her husband thought he was God. The owner of a successful business, David was practically a poster child for self reliance.

Things started changing the moment Dave's doctor spoke the word carcinoma. Cancer surgeries and treatments landed him flat on his back, and the effect on his company was immediate. The business is still there, and David still signs the checks. The only difference is the CEO is now a new man. He gives the thanks not to St. Bartholomew's but to God. We wouldn't have it any other way.
